Why do we think that a dog park might be necessary in the ART-Tér?
The dog park is a very important part of a dog's life. Perhaps first of all because in the dog park the dog is free to exist, to do what it wants, it is a playground. In the park we can safely let him run free without fear of him running away. The paddock is also particularly important for dogs because they need each other's company as well as people need it. Dogs behaviour is a combination of learned and inherited behaviours, some of which the dog learns from its mates. Socialisation, companionship and social behaviour with other dogs is very important for the development of young dogs, and one of the best areas for this is the „puppy park”. In the paddock, the dog gets a sense of off-leash freedom and learns to behave freely, which is one of the cornerstones of disciplined walking on the street and on a lead. It is also an excellent way to tire your dog out, knowing that the physical demands of throwing a ball to your pet are not comparable to the physical demands of playing with other dogs. Going to the dog park can of course be very useful for the owners as well, as we can exchange experiences about dogs, learn about other people's opinions and opinions about vets, dog trainers, dog schools, food and practically anything to do with dogs. Not least because we have a large open space in the ART Tér, here you can relax not only you but your dog too. You can take part in our community initiatives and the activities and processes of other ART Tér groups.
What exactly do we collect?
We are raising 250.000Ft for the fence posts and fencing needed to enclose the dog park!
The park will be built on a large area of the ART Tér yard. To do this…:
We need to fence off the area to be developed, which requires fence posts and fencing material
We have to build the entrance, for this we have to build an entrance gate, for which we have to buy iron material, locks and iron bars
We need to arrange for the water supply and the disposal and transport of rubbish
We need to build a rain shelter. We will need wooden beams, planks, roof battens, roofing, nails and screws for assembly and a concrete base for fixing the support poles
While the yard is nice, spacious and shady, we will also need yard-building toys for our pets. We're thinking about recycled materials, but renovating, refurbishing and maintaining them is also essential
